Position Overview

Experience Galesburg is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing Manager to help tell the story of Galesburg and Knox County, and position the community as a premier Midwest destination: locally loved + nationally recognized.

This role is central to how our community is experienced by visitors and seen by the outside world. Through digital marketing, content creation, and storytelling, the Marketing Manager will highlight local businesses, events, and the everyday moments that make Galesburg unique.



Working directly with the Executive Director, you’ll lead the day-to-day marketing efforts of Experience Galesburg: from social media and website updates to visitor guides, community storytelling, and campaigns that attract national media attention.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns aligned with organizational goals
• Collect data using Placer.ai, and create reports to share with community partners
• Write, edit, and schedule content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.)
• Plan, schedule, and track email marketing campaigns (e-blasts, newsletters)
• Create blog posts, press releases, and website content
• Manage photography, videography, and digital asset libraries
• Coordinate with local businesses, partners, and stakeholders for promotions and campaigns
• Attend events to capture marketing content and support community engagement
• Maintain consistent messaging and brand standards across all communications



Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or tourism
• Experience managing social media for an organization or brand
• Strong writing, copywriting, and storytelling skills
• Basic photography and video skills preferred
• Experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar design tools preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; WordPress experience preferred
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation



Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
